MISSION
In its third year, the Mission of the Twilight Theatre Apprentice Company is to expose young people to the full spectrum of theatre through example, education and experience while reinforcing important life skills such as teamwork, cooperation, dependability, responsibility, accountability, and respect.
ELIGIBILITY
The Company is open to young people ages 11-18 and will be divided into three groups: Junior Apprentices (middle school); Senior Apprentices (high school); and a select group of apprentices (grades 9-12) who already have a strong knowledge base and are interested in receiving instruction in directing and advanced performance techniques.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR LEARNING
Apprentices will have the opportunity to attend theatre performances produced by professional, community, collegiate, and high school troupes, and some of the performances will include specially arranged backstage or preproduction visits.
Monthly meetings will provide opportunities for apprentices to learn from experts and each other, and workshops offered by Twilight and other organizations will further expand apprentices’ knowledge and skill base.
There will also be opportunities for apprentices to develop and hone their performance skills through participation in apprentice-only shows, cabarets, and open mic nights.
The Advanced group will perform a murder mystery improv in the fall, and members of this group will be considered for direction and music directing opportunities. They will create and present proposals (including marketing plans, budgets, and other pertinent information) to Twilight’s Artistic Director for shows they wish to direct, and one will be chosen for production.
